There was a “more than full field” for the inaugural Frank Stokes Trophy on Saturday October 1st. Heavy downpours during the night and a storm in the early morning added a lot of water interest to the course. But it dried out sufficiently for the 3.00pm shotgun start.
The GreenKeeper Alan Sharp set up the course for ten par 3’s, with tees for Gents and Ladies. There were prizes for “nearest the pin” on every hole, the prizes were all donated by members and friends of the club. Frank’s family came to the presentation and provided a lovely momento gift for the first winner of the trophy.
