
The Day shone warm and bright for The Duddon Inshore Rescue Charity Open, Dunnerholme Golf Club’s first Open of the 2017 Season. Conditions couldn’t have been better for the competitors. There was a full field, and pairs were going out from 8.00am.
Heavy rainfall in the last week had made preparation of the course more difficult, but it looked and played exceptionally well, and the winners were most complimentary about the course conditions and presentation.
The Silecroft Members, David Warren and Chris Owen took first prize with a winning score of 45 points, they played in the morning and will be presented with their prizes when Dunnerholme’s Captain Friendly Team visit Silecroft on the 22nd.
Second were Mark and Will Hendley with 44 points, and third after a three card play off were Alan Foxon and Joe Kavanagh with 43 points. The winner of the Bernard Macnamee Trophy went to Andy Hall from Ulverston, for nearest the pin on the 14th.
Dunnerholme Ladies Section catered all day for the Competitors, which was well received. and special thanks to Chris Pearce and her band of helpers for organising the day.
The Club Captain Geoff Pearce presented Ian Standing from Duddon Inshore Rescue with a cheque for £630.
