It was such a relief to wake up one hour earlier this morning and see the sun shining for a change. At last, proper golfing weather for Lady Captain’s Drive In. The Ladies, sporting their Easter Hats, gathered in the clubhouse for Coffee with a drop of the hard stuff a piece of  Mr Captain’s Gingerbread, and Betty’s biscuits, before facing the rigours of “The First Golf Competition”
Lynda Preston nailed the prize for predicting the spot where Lady Captain’s drive would finish and was thrilled to win the Giant Easter Egg as her prize.
The Teams viz. Lady Captain’s “Elite Team”, Lady Vice Captain “Vice Squad” and the Games Secretary’s “Handicapped Team” took to the tee at 1pm and appropriately the “Elite Team” finished victorious.
After a fitting meal of Fish chips and Mushy Peas in keeping with the theme a “Day on the Beach” complete with Ice Cream with every sort of topping imaginable, and a traditional stick of rock, the festivities began. Lady Captain once more led her team to victory, despite every effort to thwart them, some methods more dubious than others, but to no avail they won again! Everyone enjoyed the day and Chris thanked everyone for giving her Year of Office such a magnificent start.
