Horrendous driving conditions on the M6 did not deter the Dunnerholme Ladies travelling north to Carlisle for the Cecil Leitch Matchplay Competition.
Four of the Dunnerholme Ladies had not played the course before, and there were a few puddles and muddy patches to negotiate, as well as one very heavy downpour during the match, but everyone enjoyed the day. Matches were held up at the 18th as a helicopter came into land. Rumour had it it was “One Direction”, but disappointingly it proved to be “Election Related” as David Cameron was on a flying visit to Cumbria.
The match resulted in a win for Carlisle 3.5 to 1.5. Many of the Carlisle Ladies have never played Dunnerholme and our Ladies are all looking forward to showing off our course to them in the return match on 1st July.
