Furness Past Lady Captains Competition

Sunday Morning – a glorious summer’s day – once again Dunnerholme was looking wonderful, and our Lady Past Captains were there to meet and greet the Guest Past Captains from Furness and Barrow. Regrettably there was a fixture clash with Ulverston, their Lady Captain’s Day, and they were not able to join in this year.
It was such a pleasure to play this friendly competition in such perfect conditions, and the course received many compliments, with acknowledgement and special thanks to Alec and David. The competition was won by Larraine Morrison from Dunnerholme, with 39 points. Dunnerholme Lady Captain Paula Knott presented Larraine with the Furness Past Captain’s Trophy for 2021.
Sincere apologies to Chris Pearce, Carol Kermode, Rose Kelly and Meg who missed the Photographer.

REGRETTABLY THE POPPY OPEN IS POSTPONED

Owing to overnight rain and further persistent rain all morning, the Open Competition has been postponed.
Apologies to all competitors. A New Date will be arranged and advised as soon as possible. Thank you all for your Support for The British Legion Poppy Open, we hope you will be able to play in the re-arranged event.

LADY CAPTAIN’S DAY

Rarely does everything come together to make a perfect golfing day. But Saturday June 5th ‘Lady Captain’s Day’ was just such a day.
Paula welcomed the Ladies with Prosecco, dips and crackers, nuts and crisps and “The Cush Gingerbread”. Waiter service courtesy of the Knott/Brough Brigade meant everything ran smoothly, ensuring the Covid Protocols were followed. There was a party atmosphere from the very start, and with our latest grandparents, Lady Captain and Mr President it meant there was even more to celebrate. Superb Catering, courtesy of Tony, our favourite chocolatier, and table wine courtesy of Mr Captain. Our cup overflowed.
You couldn’t improve on the weather, and our course was beautifully presented like “The Gem” that it is. We are so very fortunate. Thanks to ‘Team Dunnerholme ‘

And the Party went on. A Very Special Thank you, to everyone involved, Cheers Lady Captain.
