{"id":453,"date":"2011-06-22T20:32:03","date_gmt":"2011-06-22T19:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atantalus.com\/dunnerholme\/?page_id=453"},"modified":"2011-06-22T21:48:03","modified_gmt":"2011-06-22T20:48:03","slug":"code-of-conduct-for-professional-coaches-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/atantalus.com\/dunnerholmeold\/members\/junior-section\/code-of-conduct-for-professional-coaches-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Code of Conduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #1b161c} span.s1 {color: #db0074} --><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PROFESSIONAL COACHES &amp; VOLUNTEERS<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.<\/li>\n<li>Help create an environment where all children have an equal opportunity to\u00a0participate.<\/li>\n<li>Help create and maintain an environment free of fear and harassment.<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the rights of all children to be treated as individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Recognise the rights of parents and children to confer with other coaches and experts.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the concept of a balanced attitude, supporting the well-being of the child both in and out of golf.<\/li>\n<li>Do not discriminate on the grounds of sex, marital status, race, colour, disability, sexuality, age, religion or political opinion.<\/li>\n<li>Do not condone or allow to go unchallenged any form of discrimination or prejudice. \u2022 Do not publicly criticise or engage in demeaning descriptions of others.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with children in a manner that reflects respect and care.<\/li>\n<li>Develop relationships with parents and children based on openness, honesty, mutual trust and respect.<\/li>\n<li>Do not engage in any behaviour that constitutes any form of abuse (physical, sexual, emotional abuse, neglect or bullying).<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of the physical limits of children and ensure that training loads and intensities are appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that physical contact is appropriate and necessary and is carried out within recommended guidelines (See Appendix 4G \u2013 CPSU Guidelines on Physical Contact and Young People in Sport and PGA Guidelines).<\/li>\n<li>Always try to work in an open environment (e.g. avoid private or unobserved situations).<\/li>\n<li>Do not engage in any form of sexually-related contact with children. Sexual\u00a0innuendo, flirting or inappropriate gestures and terms are also unacceptable.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the welfare and best interests of children.<\/li>\n<li>Explain to parents, as appropriate, the potential impact of the coaching programme on the child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PROFESSIONAL COACHES &amp; VOLUNTEERS Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.
