Dunnerholme was dressed to kill on Sunday for the Bob Braithwaite Memorial Trophy and The Iris Braithwaite “Wren” Trophy. The course was beautifully prepared, and the sun shone on all the competitors. Links golf at its best, a strong wind from the south east made the course a real test, not our prevailing wind, and it was a real challenge.
The Ladies gathered in the afternoon, this was the inaugural competition for the Iris Braithwaite “Wren” Trophy and the ladies were eager to play.
After the Competition it was lovely to see the clubhouse full for the presentation, and three generations of Bob and Iris’s family were welcomed to the club for the prize giving. Jayne was on holiday abroad but there in spirit.
It was a happy gathering and Mr Captain was delighted to present the winners with their prizes and to thank the Family, members and competitors for making it such a memorable day. Gary Regan Won the Men’s Competition, with Gary Stevenson runner-up, and Lady Captain Christine Burton won the Ladies Competition with Meg Tyson runner-up.
